Weekend Word Picture
Peppermint drifts up from a candy cane to mingle with the rich smell of hot chocolate and roasting chestnuts. Family all aglow with the wash of millions of many coloured lights. Brass horns play holiday songs amidst laughter, and toddler and baby tears with the train whistle steam filled call filling in the spaces in between. Salt popcorn kisses taste buds while we wait our turn to ride the train.

OK, before I get to it; you really must click this link and head over to this site first.

------------------------------------------------------------------Early morning frost dusted steps and frost laced leaves and grass crunch under hurried feet

Weekend Word Picture
The door opens to crisp, sharp, cold air. The back porch; it's translucent plastic corrugate roof blanketed, emits a cool glow over the thick layer on the porch floor. The air glows white as I step out for a post breakfast walk past incongruous autumn leaves falling onto the white snow carpet.

Not so unexpected view from my window
Overcast sky suffused with predawn and hint of pink or orange, almost matching the sodium glow of the street light framed within the telephone wires, cables and power lines that criss cross the picture window. A single black crow perched below the light while a murder flies towards us, our crow takes flight in the opposite direction.

Unexpected view from my window
The neighbor (kitty corner from behind us) walking through our yard with a rake in one hand and a rescued hen tucked under his arm, a look of grim determination on his face.
No time to grab the camera just this short word picture for your amusement.
That is all.
